Kathleen Malu, Educator

When I teach, I learn.
Exploring new ideas and guiding learners—whether
they be children, youth or adults—to discover
and understand different perspectives
​brings me great joy.

Dr. Malu teaches literacy pedagogy, multiculturalism, anthropology,
and research methods at the undergraduate and graduate levels
​for teachers and reading specialists in face-to-face and virtual settings.
 
            She has taught in the U.S.A. and abroad. She began teaching in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (formerly Zaïre) as a Peace Corps Volunteer (1973-75). She served again with Peace Corps (1980-81) as an inspectrice (administrator/supervisor) for the Ministry of Education in Rwanda. She has taught at the United Nations International School, several universities and colleges in New York City, and a wide variety of educational settings worldwide.
